Happy things

Monday evening, Tim instructed me to come in at 8:00 the next day. This is great, because I got to get up at 7:00 instead of 5:00/5:30.

I came into work, and saw a mere four things on my list of assignments. The first one was easy, the second one was missing, but we quickly got it taken care of. The third item wouldn't be in until after I left, but I had to wait for Tim to come in so we could discuss my becoming a full-time employee. So I had two hours to sit there and do nothing, since the fourth thing on my list didn't exist. In that time, I checked the FedEx website to see that helen99 had signed for iPod after I left the house, and it was listed as delivered. Yay!

When Tim came in, he gave me something else to do instead, and eventually two new files came in which I also finished. It was a pretty casual day, and we actually got a really good test file in (from people applying to become transcribers). Hopefully we'll have a good, new transcriber on the way.

We eventually got to commandeering the conference room for a while, and he told me that he was able to have me listed as salary (full-time) as of this pay period (which started Monday). This means I can apply for benefits on January 11, which would be available starting February 1. I will also be getting a pay increase of 25 percent! I didn't even ask.. he just gave me more than I was thinking about asking for. wee! He also said that, as of today, I can start coming in at noon, which I have!

On the way home, I stopped by an auto service place to get Smurf checked out. I left Smurf there for a free overnight inspection, and took the bus home to fiddle with my shiny new iPod.

This morning, I got up just before a phone call at 9:30 from the auto service place, telling me there were no major problems with Smurf, and I authorized them to do a couple minor things like tire rotation, etc. Cheap things. I'm going to take Smurf back there after my trip to Florida, which they assured me should not be a problem. I picked it up and got to work on time, and have been sort of breezing through things as they come in.

I reached into my shirt pocket to pull out the cord for my iPod, so it could charge while I'm here. With it came the fortune I'd gotten while eating at "House of Mandarin" with everyone on Sunday. It says, You will be traveling and coming into a fortune.

How 'bout that. I often don't keep track of these lil things. (^*^):
