X-Men III: The Last Stand..

..was a horrible movie. Do not waste your money, do not support a thoroughly scrapped franchise.

The took the soul out of it. They took away everything that made X-Men good.

They turned real, living, breathing people into EPIC BATL.

That was all.

Yes.. and that's part of the problem, it became a battle full of pawns. No one was a person. Part of what makes X-Men enjoyable is that they are all PEOPLE, not just constructs for a shoddy, convoluted and aimless plot.

It wasn't a complete waste, no, but I would be happier knowing that the movie didn't exit, that they left it off after the second.

There were moments, yes, but they don't make up for how terrible the movie was overall; in fact, they add to the effect. Like with War of the World, you keep wanting to believe that it's a good movie, but it's a constant let-down.

And one of the great things about X-Men has been it's basis in morality, the ambiguity thereof, and people always trying to do good. They lost that in this movie. People became as bad as the enemy, people gave up trying, people gave into peer pressure and took the easy way out. And while they could have made good points and contrasts, instead they just demonstrated that this is the way of life, there is no hope, there is no good.

Y'know, I heard a couple of people say this weekend that it was a really good movie, and that we all should go see it. I think I'll trust your review more. When I saw some of the clips , just from the commercials, I was leary, and this confirms it.

The original teaser was not terribly impressive, but it was one of those movies that I (and some other people) were going to see anyway. The official trailer actually inticed us, and we really wanted to see the film.

Unfortunately, it looks like the director of the trailer was much more talented than the film's director (who was responsible for the Rush Hours movies, amongst other cheap action films). I think I'm going to have to see the Superman movie in order to make up for this one.. the director of the first two X-Men films is working on that one.
