Just started catchin' up with that comic today.. ee, only someone who's worked in phone-in customer service can truly appreciate those strips.

"Thank you for calling _____, my name is _____. How may I help you today?"
"I wanna know why my purchases aren't showin' up on my statements!"
"Well ma'am, I'd be more than happy to help you with that. May I have your account number please?"
"Oh, hold on, let me get it.. [insert five minutes] It's _____."
"And may I have your name and home phone number with the area code for verification, please?"
"It's ___."
".. Your first name, ma'am?"
"___, ___ ___."
"And your phone number?"
"..And the area code, please?"
"Thank you very much, ma'am. Now were there specific purchases in question?"
"Yeah, I bought a ___, and a ___.. and I think I got a ___ too, but I might have gotten that at [competitor]."
[search account, nothing relating to anything she has to say] "Ma'am, are you sure you paid for these purchases with your _____ Credit Card?"
"No, I paid for them in cash!"
[beat head on keyboard] "Well unfortunatley, only purchases you make with the credit card will show on the credit card statement.."
"I don't care about that! I want to know why they don't show on my statements!"
"Ma'am, if you didn't purchases them with the credit card, then they won't show up on the credit card statement. You should have gotten a receipt for your purchases."
"I got a receipt, that's not what I'm talkin' about.."

[insert half-hour of attempting to explain the difference between cash and credit transactions, and what a credit card statement is for]
[finish call with customer hanging up in anger after yelling for a while]

Yea.. those were the days..
