film interlude

sixteenbynine posted this earlier, and it just looks fascinatingly insane. (^*^) I suspect the entire Voltron crew would enjoy this.

Yaji and Kita: The Midnight Pilgrims

In the ancient Edo period, Yaji and Kita are two flamboyant, down-and-out samurai who embark on a journey on their souped-up chopper to battle Kita's heroin addiction and contemplate the meaning of their truly bizarre existence. On their way to a healing shrine at Ise, they trip through a world where fantasy is reality, and the past and present intersect. A surreal blend of slapstick comedy, musical and EASY RIDER, YAJI AND KITA heralds the directorial debut of Kankuro Kudo (acclaimed writer of Takashi Miike's ZEBRAMAN) and stars Tomoya Nagase and Shichinosuke Nakamura as the whacked-out titular duo. Marked with a unique brand of cinematic mayhem, this hallucinogenic gay love story is sure to delight and bewilder all who dare journey with them.

traffic violation

At approximately 2:35 PM in Lanham, Prince George's County, Maryland, a dark gray SUV with Maryland license plate "042M001" was moving at approximately 60 MPH in a 35 MPH zone down Nicole Dr. toward M.L.King Blvd/704, where it turned left. The driver, engaged in cell phone use, did not slow down nor use a turning signal while passing a vehicle (Smurf) on the right in a non-passing zone.

Now if only I had a means to report this in a fashion that matters..

feedforward: epilogue

So Smurf is outta the shop and running fine. (^*^) More expensive than estimated, but running smoothely.. I do hope that I don't have to spend much more money on maintaining Smurf this year. In the year I've been driving it, it's cost me about $1100 (or so) in non-basic maintenance, and it's all been in the past three months, mya.

In the meantime, I can get to school and work fine on my own, and I should be able to stop by the library this weekend to pick up some books formy research paper in English. I'll need to work on the long, full-sentence outline this weekend, and try and scramble to finish my atlas paper for geography after taking a good shower tonight. Next weekend will be reserved for the research paper itself.. somewhere in there I have to study for a statistics test this Monday, and a biology exam the following week's Tuesday. weee..

After that, though, it's finals and we're done until the fall. Oh thank goodness. Thursday morning, May 11, I'll be able to sleep in, get up at 11:00 AM and mosy my way out to work. Somewhere during the summer I can get to reading that pile of books waiting for me, and maybe get around to doing some of the writing I'd like to do in between looking for an apartment to share with per_akh and animelily. (And here's to hoping I can get a raise or something by the end of the year to give me some extra padding).

'Kay, so am rethinking this weekend reservation for homework strategy. I do need to get homework done both of the next two weekends, but.. all work and no play makes 'Kash hurt lots. So I would like to spend time with friends this weekend, and the next one, but I'd need to know that people can also help me make sure I get work done before Monday on both weekends.

This weekend it's the outline for my research paper, next weekend it will be the paper itself. In the meantime I'll be working on collecting those 15+ resources I need to complete it. The paper itself has a final deadline of 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, so the paper can be stretched out more so long as it is is good when turned in, but it should at least be a good rough draft or mostly done by the Monday after this coming one (May 1).

I could also maybe use some help in studying for statistics.. the other classes I'm doing well in, but I've choked on virtually every test in that class, and need to prepare for the final in a couple of weeks (plus another test this Monday, and I think maybe one more next week, not sure). Anyways.. if people can help me out.. and would like to see me.. that'd be great.

Tanks in advance.
